Add Your Ikebana Event to Melbourne Ikebana Festival

If you would like to add your ikebana event to Wa Melbourne Ikebana Festival, please send your proposal to wa.ikebana@gmail.com by 30 June 2022.

Our sole goal is to promote ikebana. Wa aims to increase community understanding, enjoyment and participation in ikebana. Our fair approach and intensive PR strategy has been appreciated and proved to be effective, and consequently we have received support from many international ikebana practitioners, media and significant ikebana organisations.

As an ikebana practitioner we welcome you as an exhibitor and you may also be invited to be a demonstrator. In addition we encourage you to organise and add your own ikebana event to our program.

Our creative & passionate marketing team has started promoting Wa from May 2022 so that all of us will enjoy the best possible outcome.

Q: What kind of ikebana event can I propose?

A: Workshop, exhibition, special ikebana event such as "ikebana dinner show" or "ikebana & yoga workshop", etc.

Q: Where can the event to take place?

A: Anywhere. Can also be online. If you would like to use Yellow Room, next to Rosina at Abbotsford Convent, the following times are available for hiring. 10am to noon, noon to 2pm & 2pm to 5 pm, Saturday 10 September.

Q: When can the event to take place?

A: Wa festival events run from Saturday 3 September to Sunday 18 September. Please check our program, and plan your event to fit in with the festival timeframe. We welcome the proposal that would not require us to alter our program. Our support is limited to assist the promotion of your event for free in our website.  

Please note that you have to have appropriate insurance for your own event. All ikebana related events at Abbotsford Convent on 10 & 11 September 2022 will be covered. But our insurance will not cover any incidents caused by “hanging displays”.
