We are pleased to announce that Lisa Wise is the recipient of the Hiroe Swen Award for 2024. Her Ikebana container, "Pool and Void" (19 x 10 x 16 cm), has been selected by Hiroe Swen as the best entry. Lisa Wise will receive a cash award of $1,000 from the WA Melbourne Ikebana Festival.
Comments from Hiroe Swen: まったりした柔らかい白、グレーと黒の釉薬使い分け、細い線がデザイン性を高めている。形も流動的で美しい。職人技の確かさも評価したい。
Lisa has been practicing ceramics since 2001 and studied formally at both TAFE and University levels, completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Ceramics at Southern Cross University. Porcelain tableware and sculptural objects are the focus of her ceramics practice, handmade in her Studio by the sea in Tasmania.
